It’s meant to be all-inclusive, but all identities deserve to be recognized on their own – each of the other flags below is just as important as the rainbow. Now, you’re most likely to see a simplified 6-stripe version emblazoned on any and all Pride-themed designs. The original rainbow that Harvey Milk commissioned from Gilbert Baker in 1977 had 8 stripes, then it was updated later with only 7.
